The reference screen. Not a scanner, a place to look up an instrument and see what the platform actually knows about it.

What is this?​

Per-instrument reference and data-coverage information: identity, venue, asset class, currency and quote unit, session and calendar, and what price and alternative data exists for it.

Why does it exist?​

Because a strategy built on an instrument you have not checked is a strategy with an unexamined assumption in it. Three specific traps this screen exists to catch:

Quote unit versus settlement currency. LSE quotes pence (GBX) and settles pounds (GBP). A threshold stated in the wrong one is off by a factor of a hundred. See Currencies & GBX.

Session and calendar. A trading window that does not overlap the instrument's session gates the strategy to hours the market is closed. Validation catches the egregious cases; the subtle ones are yours to check. See Trading hours & holidays.

History depth. A metric or indicator needs a minimum number of bars. An instrument with three months of history cannot support a 200-day moving average, and the resulting value is absent, not zero.

Limitations​

Reference, not analysis. No scores, no setups, no ranking. That is what the other screens are for.

Not the authoritative venue record. For corporate actions, circuit limits and contract specifications, your broker and the exchange are the record of truth.
